STEP 2: GET HELP IN CHOOSING YOUR COURSES

Step 2 Besides making sure your courses are at the
right level, you need to think carefully about what you actually want to study whilst you’re away – especially if your subject allows you some flexibility! To help you make your selection, consider the following questions:

HELP IS AT HAND

Don’t Just Rely on the Internet!

Visit the STUDY ABROAD RESOURCE ROOM!!

Resource Room

Courses Taught in English
In the Resource Room you’ll find information on each Partner University, as well as hard copies of the Course Listings.
Student Questionnaires
If your Study Abroad Office has questionnaires completed by previous study abroad students, make sure you consult them. Here you’ll be likely to find detailed information about which courses students have taken at your Partner University in the past – along with their views of the course! Remember though, you may have different interests to them, so treat their opinions as a guide rather than a fact.
Course Syllabuses
Your Study Abroad Office may also have a copy of the syllabus for the courses students have previously studied at your Partner University. Consult these to get a detailed week-by-week breakdown of exactly what material a given course will cover. It will give you a much better idea of what a course involves than just reading a description on the Internet!
Returnee Students
It's also a very good idea to try and talk to students who have studied at your partner institution in the past. They'll be able to offer you advice on what to expect and how to select courses.
